Painting and anti-corrosion coating
An important component of our work is the implementation of anti-corrosion protection of tanks.
Corrosion of metal is a “disease” of all metal structures. The damage from this disease is usually enormous. Therefore, any metal structure needs periodic anti-corrosion treatment.
Above ground tanks corrode when exposed to atmospheric moisture. Underground are even more actively affected, especially in wet soils. The rate of corrosion depends on the frequency of filling, the content of the product, the water, the ambient temperature and the grade of steel from which the tank is made.
The rate of metal corrosion during storage of petroleum products is 0.1 mm/year. Depending on the type of stored oil product, the corrosion rate of the bottom and lower ring, which are in contact with formation water, is up to 0.4 mm/year. The corrosion rate during storage of the carbide-ammonia mixture is 1 mm/year.
There are various methods of protecting metals from corrosion, of which painting is the simplest and most affordable. In our practice, we use universal coatings, proven by operation from the manufacturer "Sigma", which have the best price-quality ratio.
In addition to applying protective coatings to the internal surfaces of tanks, we provide exterior painting services for tanks and pipelines. External painting of tanks, in addition to protective functions, plays an important role in reducing the loss of oil products from evaporation. Painting the outer surfaces of tanks in light colors greatly contributes to reducing losses from the evaporation of oil products.
When painting metal structures, we use "Graco" painters, which allow us to perform a significant amount of work in a short time.
We carry out quality control of applying an anti-corrosion coating according to the following indicators: appearance, thickness, continuity, adhesion. We control the appearance visually - the coating must be even and continuous. Coating thickness is measured with a thickness gauge. To determine the presence of humidity affecting the quality of the coating, we use a device that measures the dew point.
After the completion of the quality control of the work performed, an act of acceptance of the tank coating into operation is drawn up.
